We are a family of 5. My husband, myself, and 3 dogs. My son recently moved, excited to begin his personal journey in life.
We own 2 Doberman mixes. Siri a wonderful dog that was dropped at our facility by a local woman. The woman called me the next day begging me to take the dog. She said Siri was a stray and her husband was going to shoot her if she was there when he got home. I took her in. and found that Athena, one of our dogs at that time, didn't like her so we were forced to keep her up on the upper acreage with the boarding dogs. I could not stand for her to be there so alone, so we went to the animal shelter to adopt an older dog. We came home with Mika. She was dropped off at the pound as part of a litter of puppies. She was the last one left and had been there all her life. She was around 3 months old, and her time was running out. Mika was so happy to be out of the animal shelter that when she got here, she ran and ran and ran! She is a happy good-natured dog!
I have shared my home with many full blood and mix breed dogs over the years, a Cocker Spaniel, 2 Poodle/Terrier mixes,2 Chow Chows, 2 Rottweiler, a Cattle Dog, 2 Mastiffs, a St. Bernard, an Eastern European Shepherd and many German Shepherds.
Our dogs are such an important part of our family I can't imagine being without any of them!!!!
About myself. Well, after more than 25 years as a Medical Lab Tech, I decided to pursue a career that would allow me to spend more time with the best animals on earth, Dogs! I have always enjoyed working with all types of dogs and feel that they deserve compassionate individualized service just the same as we demand for ourselves. So, I attended grooming school and opened a grooming business, "All American Groomer". We opened in 2007 and in 2009 I opened the boarding business too. I love my job!
About my husband. We have been married for over 40 years. His name is Tim, and he is a retired X-ray Tech. He too is an animal lover. He is the one who made my dreams for a boarding facility, built the way a dog would want, become a reality. I told him what I wanted it to look like and he built it. I did help all along the way, but I must say that he is the one who knew how to do the construction. We both work the boarding business now. We closed our grooming business in 2023.and rented our grooming house to Jackie Johnson, the owner of Oasis Pet Salon.
Our son is Jon Watkins. He has always been a busy person. We have so enjoyed raising him. He was a great child and has grown into an incredible man. He absolutely loves cars. He also thinks all cars should all have manual transmissions. He is on his own now but comes home to visit often.
